Values

Honestly Committed to Mastery

We work with the understanding that excellence is not the acquisition of knowledge but the ability to apply knowledge across contexts and connect new information to broader implications. We always consider the context that the technical work is done in, double check our work, and honestly assess client goals, concerns, and questions. We don’t do mindless data-entry, assume we’re always right, or respond based on habit or a “it’s just done that way” attitude.

Honestly Sovereign

We recognize the only thing we actually have control over is ourselves, and that self-trust, self-authority, and self-compassion are the keys to a life well lived. When we each take ownership of ourselves, we are an interdependent team, capable of great mutual respect and compounding excellence. We laugh and take ownership when we make a mistake, set expectations and follow through, and proactively reach out for help when we need it. We don’t avoid being honest with ourselves or others, believe we are victims of circumstance, or suffer in silence.

Honestly Persistent and Flexible

We recognize that modern work has been structured to require people to work as machines, stripping us of humanity, and expecting consistent, unwavering output. We reject this worldview. We actively plan our work with seasonality, cycles, and rhythms in mind. We adhere to deadlines, but proactively make adjustments if necessary. We don’t go silent and we don’t avoid follow-ups when conversations are needed.

Honestly, We Laugh A Lot

We celebrate each other and our clients, find unexpected delight in our day to day, and laugh when the uncontrollable messes with the best laid plans. We recognize that avoidance of emotions is harmful to our health and laughter really can be the best medicine. We do not pull pranks, engage in locker room humor, or denigrate ourselves or others with the pretense of humor.

Contributions

Community

We’re passionate about giving back to the community. Currently 2% of top line revenue is donated to Ekone Ranch, a local non-profit our owner, Morgaine, has been involved with since she was 12. It fosters land stewardship, place-based education, and authentic community by providing a land trust, green burial grounds, and summer camp.

Climate

We participate in the Stripe Climate program, contributing 1% of transactions on the Stripe network to next-generation carbon removal companies. Participation in the program helps accelerate the devolvement of carbon removal technologies.
